A Locust Valley native, orthodontist Dr. Laura C. Sotomayor provides all phases and types of orthodontic treatment for children and adults (metal braces, clear braces, and Invisalign®).  Our new state-of-the-art office is located in the heart of Locust Valley and serves neighboring communities including Glen Cove, Brookville, and Bayville.

Dr. Sotomayor has demonstrated a commitment to excel throughout her 11-year formal training to become an orthodontist.  She earned two Ivy League degrees, graduating as valedictorian of Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, while also dedicating herself to teaching and tutoring others in her field.  Dr. Sotomayor went a step beyond and became Board Certified, a designation held by only 1 in 3 orthodontists nationwide, to constantly further her expertise and knowledge of the most up-to-date treatments and techniques in orthodontics.

Dr. Sotomayor personally treats each patient at each visit, rather than rotating through multiple patients and directing a team of assistants to perform the necessary work. She makes sure each case is progressing on or ahead of schedule, providing continuous care.

CUSTOMIZED TREATMENT PLAN

From the initial consultation onward, Dr. Sotomayor focuses on the concerns of her patients. Whether it be fixing a gap between teeth or straightening overlapped, crowded teeth, she addresses the goals her patients want to accomplish and customizes her treatment accordingly, recommending particular appliances such as palate expanders, metal braces, clear braces, Invisalign®, fixed retainers, etc. to achieve and maintain desired results.

STATE-OF-THE-ART TECHNOLOGY

Our intraoral scanner has eliminated the need for messy, uncomfortable, and often gag-inducing impressions, allowing us to produce digital models of teeth within minutes. Dr. Sotomayor then uses these models to show patients problems with overbite, crossbite, open bite, etc. and create same day before and after simulations illustrating new, healthy smiles with orthodontic correction!

CONVENIENT SCHEDULING

We offer evening and weekend appointments to accommodate busy schedules, and are available to handle orthodontic emergencies. If necessary, we open the office after hours to fix broken brackets, replace lost Invisalign® aligners, and clip poking wires.

FLEXIBLE FINANCING, INSURANCE ACCEPTED

Our interest-free payment plans make it possible to achieve a beautiful, confident smile without financial burden. We coordinate benefits with insurance carriers and work with our patients to arrange affordable and manageable monthly payments.
